Eleanor!!!

So for the next 5 months I will be living on the university of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) campus in Pietermaritzburg. I live in Pietre hall in the old block. I live in a single room that is very nice and comfortable. There is a balcony outside my window that looks out onto the main gate of the campus. Above are a few photos of my dorm, courtyard and balcony. In SA none of the windows have screens but most have large metal bars over them to prevent theft. Also everything in SA is fenced in and gated. To enter my dorm you have to swipe your card to go through a big turn style that only will allow one person through. You also must swipe your card to exit the building. You also must swipe your card to enter and exit campus and any to get in any of the buildings on campus. Ever house off campus has a large fence at least 6 feet high around it usually with barb wire at the top. Even the local mall has a fence and entrance gate.
